Matthew was first diagnosed with EBA in 2008. He has documented the initial expression of the condition as well as the period upto a couple of months following his release from hospital on his personal website.

Overall, Matthew has been able to control the condition with the usual medications (Prednisolone, Azathioprine and Dapsone) and he has found that for him, tiredeness is an important factor for keeping the condition at bay. Flare ups also currently seem to be controllable with increases in the medications, unfortunately with some of the the associated side effects described in the Side effects section of the site.
